recovering and recap

Monday morning has arrived. I slept in later than I should have, and am drinking a cup of coffee. I am slowly recovering from the lack of sleep this weekend provided me...but it sure was worth it! Friday I had shared that I was going to Duluth for a conference with our youth group. It was my prince's first 'outside of church youth event' he was youth pastor for.

This weekend was a blast. God is faithful. The holy spirit was present and working in the hearts of these youth!

Check out just a few pics :)

some of our group. We just ate at Grandma's and were heading to the first session!

I hung out with these cute girls on Saturday! During free time we walked around Duluth, and looked at some cute shops!

I was SO thankful for the sun.

here is my prince and a kid from our group. He is sort of a Justin Bieber look-a-like, and actually was approached by some girls asking for a picture :) haha.

lots and lots of pizza!

During worship there was a guy painting on stage. This was so cool to watch!

On the bus ride home...beautiful girl!

So I could probably go on and on about what went on this weekend, and what I learned. However, I am running late this morning, and you probably don't want to read a short story. So this is what I will tell you...

"Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and follow me. 24 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. 25 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but are yourself lost or destroyed?" Luke 9:23-25

The message this weekend was to Follow Jesus Christ.
The challenge was that you cannot follow the world, and Christ. You must choose.

Those who pursue the things and pleasures of this world, are pursuing death and destruction. Those who pursue and follow after Christ, are pursuing everlasting LIFE and purpose!
