Yesterday I was at Panera dipping my french bread in my garden vegetable soup when all of a sudden I realized I heard Jimmy Needham (one of my favorite musicians)! His song "Forgiven and Loved" was playing through the Panera sound system. At first I was a little shocked to hear this openly Christian song playing in a public place....but HOW COOL!
The last part of the song says this:
"O He died, He died to rectify my hopeless situation
And His blood commands my guilt to leave
Now on Calvary I stand
Empty pockets, open hands
O there is no condemnation for me"
And His blood commands my guilt to leave
Now on Calvary I stand
Empty pockets, open hands
O there is no condemnation for me"
I am reminded of Romans 8....
"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death."
What a great message that the world needs to hear! Christ died to save you from death. He offers Complete forgiveness and love!
(Listen to the song :)
