sweet!

My weekend was sweet.
Sweet in three different ways :)

#1 Sweet

definition: Exciting, epic, awesome

This weekend I was able to check some things off my long list of wedding plans. I also got some homework done. SWEEEET!

#2 Sweet

definition: tasty, sugary, not bitter

This weekend my prince and I shared a large vanilla shake. It was yummy and SWEET :)

#3 Sweet

definition: cute, kind, thoughtful

This weekend my prince watched a major chick flick with me. He is so SWEET!

OK. So I will admit this sounds like a really stupid movie...

but it is actually REALLY cute and surprising! I found it on Netflix Instant view and it was given 5 stars. It's one of those movies that makes you really mad until you watch the end...and then you love it! Check it out :)

So that was my Sweet weekend! How was yours?

dance

It's the weekend! Do a little Dance!

Confession:

When I am home alone I like to get in some workout clothes...shut the blinds...turn some music on loud...and dance like no one is watching (well, hopefully no one is watching :))

Enjoy your weekend!

Coolio!

Yesterday I was at Panera dipping my french bread in my garden vegetable soup when all of a sudden I realized I heard Jimmy Needham (one of my favorite musicians)! His song "Forgiven and Loved" was playing through the Panera sound system. At first I was a little shocked to hear this openly Christian song playing in a public place....but HOW COOL!

The last part of the song says this:

"O He died, He died to rectify my hopeless situation
And His blood commands my guilt to leave
Now on Calvary I stand
Empty pockets, open hands
O there is no condemnation for me"

I am reminded of Romans 8....

"So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death."

What a great message that the world needs to hear! Christ died to save you from death. He offers Complete forgiveness and love!

(Listen to the song :)

Pearls and Peacocks

Hello!
A few posts ago I mentioned that I was inspired by peacock feathers. Well, let me explain!

Valentines weekend, my prince and I attended a church Valentines Dinner, and the centerpieces were beautiful. They were made mostly of peacock feathers, and I noted how the colors of the feathers seem to match the colors of our bridesmaid dresses. Well, after some chit-chatting... the lady who made the centerpieces generously let us have all of the feathers! Therefore, I am inspired!

This is the attire (plus a tie) that the groomsmen and bridesmaids will be wearing. A touch of peacock will add some character to our wedding attire and decorations :)

detail on the dresses

some ideas! Just creative ways to incorporate peacock feather without being overwhelming!

add feathers into boutonnieres? :)

The bridesmaids will also be wearing pearls.

The wedding theme has become Pearls and Peacocks

What do you think? Any ideas? :)

something or everything?

Hello Friends! I have missed you!
My roses from my prince have been blooming and keeping me great company :)

I have been a little out of the blog-world the past week. I have been feeling a bit stressed out lately with the business of life! Wedding, school, work, social-life? How do I fit everything in and not go crazy? In the midst of all my business I have also been trying to fit in time with God. Hmmmm...fit in time with God?

So this is my revelation...

God should not be just another check on our to-do-list. He should not just be written into our planners. He should not be something we try to just "fit in" to everything else.

He is the air we breathe.

He is the way, the truth, and the life.

He is our only hope.

All things are made by Him and for Him.

He is not just something...He is everything. Apart from Him we are and can do nothing.

This video is powerful! Do we want God to simply be a part of our lives, or do we want God to be our LIFE?

My Valentine

Yesterday was my Valentines Day :) I am so thankful my prince and I found time to celebrate...Life is SO busy, but it is so important to make time for quality time!

My prince got me a singing card!
When you open it up it plays the song "Everything" by Brad Paisley. In highschool, this was my prince's ringtone for me :) love it!

My roses were called "Hot Princess" HAHA.
 perfect.
We went to the Cheesecake factory!!!!!
We split this yummy pasta....to save room for dessert :)
Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cheesecake and a hot cup of coffee!
 so so so delicious

We walked around a little afterward to work off our low fat meal...but it sure was worth it!!

My weekend recap is going to be short and sweet :)

It is a little Sneak Peak of my posts to come!

I LOVE my prince!

Peacock feathers inspire me!

There is more to come, but I have a busy day ahead of me and must get some sleep!

My prince and I are not celebrating Valentines Day until Tuesday, but today (Monday) I am meeting with a lovely lady who will be making my wedding band! This is my highlight of the day, as the rest of it will be spent in class :(

However, I am SO looking forward to Tuesday (My pretend Valentines Day :))

Happy Monday! Love to you all!!

plans

This weekend is going to be quite busy.

Some plans include...

Homework (I am feeling a little overwhelmed :()

HOPEFULLY picking up my wedding dress!!!!! (from Stillwater) I got a call yesterday saying it was in...and I am SO anxious to get it!!!!!!

A couples Valentines Dinner at Edinbrook Church

Snow golfing...yes it is what it sounds like :) (pictures to come?)

It is a little sad, but my prince and I will not really be celebrating Valentines Day until Tuesday. Our weekend is very full, and Monday I have class from 1:00 to 9:30 ( yucky ).

However, in honor of LOVE I want to share this song "How Sweet it is". I think this is going to be our recessional at our wedding! :) I love this version by Jimmy Needham!

Have a great weekend and Valentines Day! Remember, "We love because He first loved us." :)

Forever 21!

Attention Everyone! There is now a Forever 21 at Rosedale Mall!

This is only my favorite store ever. I used to have to go all the way to Mall of America, but Saturday was the grand opening of the Rosedale store!

I was completely shocked when I walked into this store. IT IS HUGE. It took me forever just to get to the back of the store, and then I saw an escalator leading to the huge bottom level! Wowzerz :D

I could spend hours in this store...SAD. I know.

Today I have two questions for you:

1. If you had to buy all of your clothes from one store, which one would it be?? :) (bet you can't guess mine)

2. What is your favorite girl scout cookie? (this is on my mind because I have been eating like a box a day! ....yikes!)

I would love to hear your responses!

waiting

"The Lord still waits for you to come to him so he can show you his love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God." Isaiah 30:18

This morning I was thinking about why I don't always feel God's presence. So often I go through my days and routines...and think that somehow God doesn't want to be near me, or speak to me. These are lies.

God is always close by. He is waiting for you to invite Him in. He longs to spend time with you!

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

"Come near to God and he will come near to you." James 4:8

"If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me." Jeremiah 29:13

Reminder: Valentines Day is less than a week away! :)

Some girls say flowers are overrated...but NOT ME. I love when my prince gets me flowers :)

This was when my prince and I were first dating.
We dressed up for halloween.
Time flies.
God is in control.

Agape

The weekend is over :(

I did not catch up on sleep, but had lots of fun!

Saturday was spent doing homework at Dunn Bros for a few hours, and then meeting two cute couples for dinner and some games ! We played battle of the sexes and laughed a lot!

Sunday was church and a superbowl party! Here are some pictures :)

I thought these were adorable!

haha my prince (the youth pastor) and two highschoolers. He looks so short!

my handsome prince and I matched! ...not even on purpose!

yummy snacks!

ok so this is my "something you might not know about my prince and I," and also a recap of Friday!

Ever since highschool, my prince has wanted a tattoo. Well, it finally happened...on Friday!

This means AGAPE in Greek.

Agape means selfless love...the love that Jesus has for us!

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."

AGAPE is the type of love that is described in this verse!

My prince says that this is what he wants his life to be about...a testimony to God's selfless love. We are called to love others only because God has first loved us!

Love God. Love Others.
